Throwdown Hoedown

The new team was on the move with Emma Frost in the back trying to detect anyone that was in the area, but so far no was could be detected. Either because no one was around or there was a telepath around but they did have Blindfold and probably already knew there was a team on the way. The team heard a noise but had no idea what it was and finally Selene looked up into the sky when she spotted a mass of flames flying down at them. "That may just be it" she said as everyone looked at her, then looked up to and could now see it was a flaming bird. Erik pointed his hands to the side extending his barrier around the entire team, once the bird smashed into the barrier it folded around it and into the ground incinerating everything around the team. Once the team was no longer in harm Magneto removed his barrier as they all looked up to see a few small figures in the sky. "Jean Grey" Frost said to her team as she entered her diamond form knowing telepathy would be useless with her around. Magneto brought both his arms to his side as he started forming a magnetic energy in the palms of both his hands while Selene extend both her hands out. The remaining flames on the ground and buildings lifted up and started swirling around her arms as she began manipulating them. Bringing them to her palms, both Magneto and Selene thrusted their hands towards the sky. Selene shot a single beam of fire towards the team while Magneto shot two massive magnetic beams towards them trying to get them out of the sky, but the distance between the two teams would make it easy to dodge,

To Selene’s surprise the flames turned from where she shot them and into the direction of Erik. “Shit” Selene muttered as the flames smashed into Erik making the beams he shot smaller and weaker. Before the flames could cause any real harm to Erik besides a few burnt marks, Selene pulled them off of him and back to her hands. The team looked back up to see the three mutants heading right at them. Erik and Emma turned to Juggernaut when he grunted after being picked up from the ground. Knowing what was about to happen, Magneto pointed his left hand towards Juggernaut and took control of the metal around his waist, arms and legs and before he could get to far, Magneto halted him in mid air. Turning him around Magneto shot Juggernaut in the direction of Emma, at the same time he swung his right hand releasing a thin long magnetic wave similar to the blasts he shot, only this would cut right through Jean if it hit her.

Frost looked at Rogue in her diamond form and knew she could not take rogue in a fight alone and would have to get into her mind. As Rogue approached to make her move, Juggernaut landed right beside her braking the ground a bit probably causing both Emma and Rogue to loose their balance. With one swing of his right arm Juggernaut backhanded Rogue with the metal on his fingers which would send her flying away. Once Rogue regained her balance all she would see is the massive Juggernaut looking right at her. “Common, your fights with me bitch!” Juggernaut roared trying to get her to attack. “Watch out” Emma said from behind him as she tapped his back, “with a single touch she can train you of your powers and keep them for herself.” With that Emma ran a good distance back where she got a view of the entire battle and entered back into her normal state. She tried getting into the minds of both Rogue and Mystique but was blocked off by Jean Grey. Jean was a great telepath just like Frost, but to protect two minds from Frost at the same time as fighting Magneto would be quite the task. Because Emma only had to concentrate on the minds of her enemies and nothing else, eventually she would be able to brake into them. So Emma began trying to brake Jean’s protection and gain control of the two other female mutants.

Meanwhile, Selene wanted to fight Jean because she knew that Jean was the strongest one and would give her the biggest challenge. But of course Erik was the one who attacked Jean, but it’s not like Selene could do anything about it because she had something of her own to deal with. Looking at Mystique, who had turned into an exact replica of her, she could not help but laugh a bit. “You may look like I do, but you don’t posses as much power as I do. I am the only Selene, the only Black Queen.” While she had been speaking the fire around her hands were still flowing in large masses. Selene began making her way over to the shape shifter as all the flames moved around her right hand and began condensing into a single ball of fire. “It’s time to get rid of you, foolish girl” Selene said with a smirk throwing the ball of fire at the ground in front of Mystique. Once making contact with the ground the ball exploded into a massive firewall right in front of Mystique, which would also burn the front of her body. Blocking her vision and now burning her as well Selene used the distraction to get in behind her and kick the back of her leg forcing her to fall down on one knee. Selene extend her arm out fully grabbing the back of her neck and the minute there was contact Selene began absorbing Mystique’s life force from her, and fast, trying to get rid of her as quick as possible.

Magneto knew his attack was going to get blocked by a Jean and was prepared to attack again. But Jean made her move first as she swung her arms in a criss-cross. Magneto’s first though of action was to create a barrier because he was expecting her to use telekinesis, so that’s what he did. But instead to slabs of heart ripped from the ground beside him and flipped to crouch him. The slabs smashed into the small barrier Erik created around himself and broke landing on top of his barrier as well. Erik raised his left hand lifting up the chunks of earth that were created from the slabs braking. Swinging his arm, Erik launched the broken chunks of earth right towards Jean knowing it was going to be blocked. At the same time as he threw them, with his right hand he began controlling the earth around Jean. Once the ones he threw collided into her, barrier or no barrier, he would keep them there against her or the barrier. With the earth he was controlling around her, he broke piece after piece and brought it in to crush her. In a matter of seconds he in-cased her in a dome of rocks and with his powers he kept them there in case she tired blowing them away with her powers. Lifting the dome into the air, with both his hands Erik swung them down smashing the earth dome with great force into the ground with Jean in it.

“Flight, gives us such a disadvantage” Emma said when she her Juggernaut grunt because Rogue was flying over him. Tossing both suitcases behind her, Frost looked up at Rogue and said “alright Rogue, lets tango” as her arms and legs started turning diamond. Once only her arms and legs fully turned diamond, she lifted both her arms up in an X to brace for the impact. Once Rogue smashed into Frost’s diamond arms he pushed her into the ground a bit and Emma whole body shook from the force of it. She turned her legs diamond as well to help her brace the impact and hold Rogue. Quickly wrapping her arms around her ankles Emma smashed Rogue down on to the ground because she heard Juggernaut stampeding towards them. Emma quickly ran out of the way because once Juggernaut was close enough he jumped towards Rogue, clinched his hands together and went to dragonball Z smash her entire body into the ground.

“I can understand why one would only want to replicate my appearance” Selene replied to the fake. “But no matter what you do or say I’m the only true Black Queen.” When the fake started walking towards her, she started walking towards Mystique as well. “I know what you’re trying to do, get me enraged so I make a mistake and you take advantage of it. Not going to happen” Selene said with a devilish grin. When she reached Mystique at first she didn’t do anything, but then as quick as she could she reached to strangle her with her left hand. If it was successful, the instant there was contact her life force began draining from her. With her free hand she was ready in case Mystique tried attacking as well.

“Of course” Erik said when he noticed everything he threw at her melted. Jean suggested Erik leave or she would “lose control”. Erik knew exactly what she meant but didn’t have time to answer being was shot at with a powerful telekinetic blast. Luckily he still had his barrier up from before and managed to block off some of its strength. But ti was stil powerful enough to push Magneto back a bit and pack a punch on him. Falling down to one knee as he held his chest with one hand releasing a grunt, he quickly got back up intensifying the barrier around him. “Now now darling, you know we can’t do that” Erik said slowly walking back to his regular position as electricity began sparking around his right palm. Erik lifted his left hand pulling a block of earth out from behind Jean to smash into her back and send her stumbling forward. If it worked Erik would release the barrier around him rapidly shooting streams of lighting right into Jean. If the lighting hit, Erik would constantly shoot lighting into her like a Sith Lord. The electricity was powerful enough to paralyse her and in seconds even stop her heart.

“How’d she get them?” Emma asked herself because she was sure she had thrown them away from both her and Rogue. But there was no reason to ponder about it because what’s done is done. Emma returned back to her regular state while telling Juggernaut to stay close to her this time and keep Rogue away from her. Emma started once more to try and get into the mind of Jean to make it harder for her to both fight and protect her two team-mates. Juggernaut then picked up the largest slab of earth that he created and tossed it full force towards Rogue. Juggernaut continued throwing slabs at her until she attacked him because he was following Frost’s order and staying by her side.

Selene grabbed the neck of the fake and had already started draining her life force. The fake grabbed onto Selene’s arms but that was not going to stop her from draining the life force, atleast that’s what she though. For some reason she felt a strange biting feeling on her arms where the fake was holding onto her and at the same time she felt her powers being drained form her. “What?!” Selene said to herself when she was no longer draining life force, but having hers drained. But suddenly Mystique would have the sudden urge to pull her hands off of Selene and eventually she would. With the life force Selene drained from Mystique, she gained psychic control over her mind, turning her into a vampire like herself and turning her into Selene’s subordinate. “Not you” was Selene’s answer to Mystiques phrase. Selene went in to try and see if she could continue draining life force, and if she could she did.

When Jean heard (and felt) the movement behind her, she looked over her shoulder to see the giant stone. She instantly vanished, leaving behind a small flash of yellow light. At the exact same time, a flash of yellow light appeared in the air over the rock, revealing Jean floating there and looking at Magneto. Hopefully her swift escape would have caused him to send the rock flying into himself. If he still fired his lightning bolts, she would just block them with a teke barrier.

Jean could feel Emma trying to get inside of her head, and although it was futile, it was an annoying distraction that could cause her to make a mistake. Phoenix also felt Selene trying to break Mystique's will. The shapeshifter was well trained when it came to defending against telepath's, and this wasn't very much different. However, it did cause Mystique to stop draining Selene's life force in order to focus on resisting the woman's mind control. "Are you so sure?" Mystique muttered as she caught Selene's hand, and furrowed her brow. Using the power she had borrowed from Selene, Mystique actually tried to take psychic control of her.

"Rrrraaagh!" Rogue roared as she swung her fist and shattered the boulder Juggernaut threw at her. Before Cain threw the next one, Rogue heard Jean's voice in her head saying (the bombs are destroyed, we've successfully delayed them... take Mystique and return to base, I'll hold them long enough for the both of you to escape.) Jumping up and flying up over the rock, Rogue would respond, (Are you sure, sugah? These 4 are no push-overs.) Phoenix and Rogue looked at each other, at which point Jean replied, (Don't worry about me. If they don't also retreat, I'll return to the base once you guys have safely escaped.) Rogue swerved around another incoming boulder and made her way down towards Mystique, who heard the whole conversation. (Ah hope so, Logan uh'll kill me if he finds out something happened to you on m'ah account...)

"Well it was fun, but I have to be going now. Keep working on that impersonation, you've almost got it down." Mystique said and then pushed off Selene. Just a moment later, Rogue swooped down and picked up the shapeshifter. The 2 of them took off into the sky and started heading South-West.

Now the last 1 left, Phoenix looked down at her 4 opponents. "I am..." she started as she slowly raised her arms and flames appeared on her body, "the Phoenix..." she said, and the flames expanded and took the shape of a screeching bird. Jean was hoping the dazzling display would be enough to intimidate them into retreating.

Mystique: Selene (last post)

Erik quickly stopped the slab of earth he tried hitting Jean with, and his lighting bolts were block, again. Erik noticed that Rogue had gone to get Mystique and they headed back towards their base. Right before Mystique was picked up, Selene told her "you better pray we don't meet again." The four man team and walked towards each other as they regrouped, watching Jean surround herself in fire and what soon took the form of an actual Phoenix. "Phoenix force" Erik muttered as he put up a barrier around him and his team to protect from any suddent attacks.

"The bombs were destroyed" Emma told Erik, waiting to see what he would do. "Selene, you're going to head back to the base and get another set of bombs since you travel the fastest" Erik ordered. "We're going to stay here and fight. She is alone, this may be our only chance to get rid of her." Selene was upset because she wanted to stay in the action, but knew they needed the bombs. So the same way she always traveled, she quickly headed towards her base. " Frost, continue trying to hack into her mind. The distraction will help Cain and I fight her."

Frost nodded as she closed her eyes to be able to concentrate all her force in trying to brake into Jean's mind. Erik charged up one of his electromagnetic beams firing two from each palm right at Jean through his barrier. The beams were not the strongest because he was more focused on keeping his barrier up and protecting Frost while she tried getting into Jean's mind. Eventually Jean would not be able to keep Frost out and fight, and that's what Magneto was waiting for.

Jean let Selene escape because she had bigger problems to deal with. Feeling Emma trying to get inside her mind, Phoenix swiftly rose a telepathic wall to shield her psyche. Looking down at Emma, Jean used her telekinesis to dislocate the woman's right shoulder. The intense pain would probably put a temporary halt to her telepathic assault, but Jean wasn't out of trouble just yet. 2 of Magneto's energy blasts came out of nowhere and struck her. Grunting with pain, she quickly regained control of herself and began flying up into the air while keeping an eye on her enemies. Jean was attempting to get out of Emma's telepathic range so she could just bombard them from high in the air while only having to worry about Erik.
